The Short Version
The ads on this site are from Google, and they may be tailored according to your browsing history.
Some 3rd parties like Facebook may know you visited this website, if you use their services. I can’t control them but I don’t believe this knowledge poses any threat to you.
If you send me an email I never share your details or contact information with anyone.
These are just the key points. If you need detail, keep reading.
The Long Version
Google's use of the DoubleClick cookie enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your browsing history. In other words, they try to show you ads you might be interested in.
You may opt out of the use of the DoubleClick cookie for interest-based advertising by visiting Ads Settings.

Amazon Associates Program
This website is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program. This means, in particular, that if you follow a link from the Recommended Reading page to amazon.com or any other national version of Amazon website and then make a purchase within 24 hours, I will receive a small percentage of what you pay to Amazon (but your price will stay exactly the same). I get a small amount from Amazon for the referral and this helps to support this site.
If you choose to follow a link, and/or make a purchase, Amazon do not provide me with any of your personal information.
I measure visitors to this website using Google Analytics. This records what pages you view within the site, how you arrived at the site and some basic information about your computer. All of that information is anonymous – so I don’t know who you are; just that somebody visited the site.
The information I collect from analytics helps me understand what parts of the sites are doing well, how people arrive at the site and so on. Like most websites, I use this information to make the website better.
Facebook provides social buttons and similar features which I use on the website – such as the “Like” and “Share” buttons.
To do so I embed code that they provide and I do not control. To function their buttons generally know if you’re logged in; for example Facebook use this to say “x of your friends like this”. I do not have any access to that information, nor can I control how those networks use it.
Facebook therefore could know that you’re viewing this website, if you use their services (that isn’t to say they do, but their policies may change). As this website is inoffensive I imagine this is not a concern for most users.
I will never provide your personal information or email address to any third party.
If you make a donation Paypal will have access to your personal and payment information. When paying by credit card, I never have any access to your credit card details.
